Spoleto is a culturally rich city in the Umbria region located within a two hour train or car journey from Rome. It is 20 km (12 mi) S. of Trevi, 63 km (39 miles) SE of Perugia; 212 km (131 miles) SE of Florence; and 126 km (78 miles) N of Rome.

The Spoleto Valley is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the town itself is home to several fascinating Castles and artistic monuments. Spoleto is a small town in area, so you are best off walking.

The Rocca Albornoziana, built in 1359-1370 on top of the Colle Sant'Ealia, is a stunning sight to behold and only one of the attractions on offer. The Duomo is another one of the finest attractions around Spoleto.

This cathedral was constructed mainly in the 12th century and is set against a magnificent backdrop of hills and valleys.
