Veneto region

Veneto is a region located in the north-east of Italy, its territory is well divided: almost 60% is hilly, about 15% mountains and the rest is plain.

 

Veneto has a 200km. long coast which confines with the Adriatic Sea. There are very high mountains in this region, for instance the Marmolada, situated in the Dolomites, which reaches 3.342 m. in height.

 

Many important rivers flow here, such as the Po, Brenta, Adige and Piave, and the Garda Lake is also partially in the territory of Veneto.

 

The capital city of this region is Venice, famous throughout the world, full of history and beauties to visit. Other provinces of the region are Verona, Treviso, Vicenza and Padova.

 

Tourism in Veneto

The region of Veneto has great tourist resources because of the beautiful mountain and coast areas, packed with exquisite tourist resorts well equipped for summer shoreline tourism and plains worth visiting.

 

Venice, with a history and beauty which the whole world envies us, is one of the most requested destinations from tourists from all over the globe.

 

The gorgeous mountains of Dolomites and in particular Cortina d'Ampezzo represent another world famous resort where both winter and summer holidays can be enjoyed.

The active and efficient industries of the region of Veneto represent Italy's pride. The active sectors are: metallurgy, engineering, glass, food, optic, chemical and textile with a developed presence of small and medium businesses.

Agriculture in Veneto

The agricultural activity here is very lively, as it makes use of the potentials and fertility of the Padana Plains in the growth of sugar beets, forages, tobacco, fruit and wine grapes
